Short-term focus is likely on areas like downtown Williamsburg near the College of William and Mary

Williamsburg Independent editor George Arbogust discusses the City of Williamsburg’s recently closed a Request for Proposals (RFP) to help create the city’s next Comprehensive Plan. One of the most contentious issues is likely to be the proposed rezoning of significant parts of downtown to allow mixed-uses, new types of architecture and higher density. The city anticipates incremental rezoning before the final plan is complete.
