Williamsburg Independent editor George Arbogust discusses the city’s search for a new City Manager, which has prompted a formal request for proposals to hire an executive search firm to lead a nationwide search. The manager reports directly to the City Council and oversees daily operations, budgeting, and a workforce of roughly 230 employees. Candidates should have a master’s degree in public administration, significant leadership experience, and a track record of transparency and sound judgment. The selected candidate must live within city limits. Executive recruiting firms have until April 14th to submit proposals.
