Williamsburg hotels post strong Spring Break numbers

Weekday travel and theme park appeal drive the gains

Greater Williamsburg topped all Virginia submarkets in hotel revenue growth during this year’s Spring Break period, posting RevPAR gains of 43.5% and 38.3% in consecutive weeks while national figures declined. The growth was fueled largely by weekday travel, a sign that efforts to attract midweek visitors through rail partnerships and conference recruitment are gaining traction. Visit Williamsburg CEO Edward Harris credited the region’s destination mix, including Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and Water Country USA, and tied the momentum to anticipation building around the area’s upcoming 250th anniversary celebration.
