Here's links for 60 community groups likely to get City grant funding in FY27
Williamsburg expected to address needs ranging from community arts and tourism development to human services

City of Williamsburg staff have released Fiscal Year 2027 grant funding recommendations for outside agencies and partners. Later this week, the City Council will hear the recommendations to distribute over $4.5 million to over 60 different community organizations.
Overall, the city breaks the funding down into several buckets:
Tourism, Arts, Culture & Events: $2,584,980 recommended for 8 agencies
Formula-Based Agencies: $1,095,721 recommended for 9 agencies
Human Services Partner Agencies: $593,298 recommended for 17 agencies
Arts Organizations: $159,000 recommended for 29 organizations
Community Partner Agencies: $113,602 recommended for 4 agencies
The top recipient for outside agency funding in FY27 will likely be the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, as the organization is recommended to receive $1.3 million, which is the same figure that they’ve received for several years. A payment of $955,000 to the Williamsburg Area Transit Authority tops the list in terms of regional funding obligations. The largest healthcare related grant totals $306,000 and is slated to go to Colonial Behavioral Health.
Final decisions about the proposed grant funding will be made by the council as it works through the FY27 budget process over the coming months.
