Earlier this year, I wrote several pieces about the voting records of local leadership in 2025. The Williamsburg City Council voted unanimously in 2025, and while supervisors in both James City and York counties each typically voted in unison, there were notable exceptions. Watching a few council and board meetings over the past 15 months, I began to notice a common theme. The meetings of the boards of both James City County and York County have frequent discussion, debate and disagreement amongst members, all of which are sorely lacking at council meetings in Williamsburg.
